The Yeti on Everest?
The Loch Ness Monster, the Yeti, and Bigfoot are considered the “three great mysteries of the century” that biologists have yet to fully solve.
The people of Nepal and Tibet have long passed down stories of a giant creature living in the snow-covered mountains of Everest. According to them, the Yeti originates from the Everest region. The fact that locals frequently see giant footprints left in the snow has only reinforced this long-held belief.
Mysterious Evidence
In 1951, a British Everest expedition led by mountaineer Eric Shipton spotted giant footprints at an altitude of 6,000 meters. Then, in 2009, American filmmaker Josh Gates and his Destination Truth team also discovered similar traces believed to belong to the Yeti.
Hair samples that Josh Gates collected from a footprint measuring 33 cm long and 25 cm wide were later examined by a forensic analyst. The results showed that the sample contained a completely unknown DNA sequence that had never been documented before.
The Mystery Remains
Since no one has ever seen the creature with their own eyes or obtained conclusive evidence, the story of the Yeti on Everest – and in many other parts of the world – remains shrouded in doubt.
That is why the Loch Ness Monster, the Yeti, and Bigfoot continue to be regarded as the “three great mysteries of the century” that biologists have yet to fully unravel.
