The visible presence of gold in numerous drill cores, coupled with potentially enormous reserves, could create “seismic waves” globally.
According to the New York Post, a series of deep drillings beneath the ground in Ukkolanvaara, Finland, have just uncovered an extremely large gold mineralization zone, causing excitement among global mineral investors.

Endomines Discovers Massive Gold Deposit in Finland
Endomines, an exploration and mining company, announced that this significant discovery comes from bedrock samples taken in February in the Ukkolanvaara area, along the Karelian Gold Line.
Ukkolanvaara is located within the “Southern Gold Line,” a region long studied by geologists due to its potential to contain valuable precious metals. This area is surrounded by ancient metamorphic rock formations and is close to active gold mines, further increasing its geological appeal.
Experts evaluate the geological conditions here as highly favorable—especially iron-rich rock structures intersecting tectonic zones—factors often associated with the presence of concentrated gold pockets. The first drill hole, named UKKO-001, penetrated ancient rock layers and simultaneously discovered three thick, high-grade gold zones. This is rare in global gold exploration.
Endomines described it as “unprecedented in the company’s mineral survey history,” according to CEO Kari Vyhtinen.
“We found not just one, but three high-grade gold mineralization zones in the same drill hole, UKKO-001. This result far exceeds all expectations and demonstrates Ukko’s enormous gold potential,” Kari Vyhtinen added.
Notably, analysis samples show that some rock sections reached nearly 10 grams of gold per ton, a level of ore richness that experts believe could transform the entire outlook for gold mining in the Karelian Gold Line area, which has long been considered a “potential gold belt” in Northern Europe.
Visible Gold and Expanded Exploration

Another highlight that particularly interests geologists is the visible presence of gold in many drill samples. Although rare, this indicates that gold may be naturally distributed at high densities, which can reduce processing costs and increase extraction efficiency.
After announcing the initial results, Endomines drilled a total of 17 holes with a combined length of over 4,600 meters, receiving analysis results for nine of those holes. Remarkably, many drill holes after UKKO-001 continued to yield excellent results, proving the gold mineralization zone extends horizontally for at least 400 meters and at a depth of at least 150 meters.
“Visible gold in the drill cores has been observed in 8 out of 17 holes, which suggests that Ukko could be a large-scale mineral system, closely linked to the existing iron deposit in the Ukkolanvaara area,” Mr. Vyhtinen emphasized.
Initially, Endomines only planned to survey Ukko for a few weeks. However, the unexpected results from the drillings prompted the company to change its strategy: expanding the drilling campaign, conducting sediment sampling, geophysical surveys, and geological mapping along the entire Karelian Gold Line in 2025.
“We are confident that Ukko will become a significant highlight in Endomines’ long-term plan and has the full potential to be a highly valuable gold discovery with global repercussions,” Mr. Vyhtinen affirmed.
Endomines stated that all drilling, sampling, preparation, and analysis strictly adhered to QA/QC procedures, meeting international JORC standards. Gold samples above 10 g/t were also re-analyzed to ensure accuracy.
Mr. Jani Rautio, a geological expert who audited the entire drilling program, confirmed that these results are of high professional quality and sufficiently reliable for use in future mineral resource calculations.
