Terrifying moment cruise passenger gets STUCK in water slide hanging overboard above sea

In a heart-stopping incident that has taken social media by storm, a cruise passenger found herself trapped inside a water slide, suspended a staggering 100 feet above the ocean. The chilling moment, captured on video, shows the woman desperately trying to free herself from the confines of the Norwegian Cruise Line’s Ocean Loops slide, her arms outstretched as she struggles to move forward.

The footage, which has amassed over 7 million views on TikTok, appears to have been filmed aboard the Norwegian Bliss, a luxurious vessel sailing on a seven-day Alaska cruise near Victoria, British Columbia, on September 19. The ship’s iconic Ocean Loops slide, a thrilling double-looped attraction, sends riders soaring just 11 feet from the ship’s edge and a jaw-dropping 159 feet above the open sea.

As the woman became stuck, onlookers gasped in horror, their screams echoing in the viral video. “Oh my God, she’s literally stuck!” one passenger exclaimed, capturing the collective panic of those witnessing the ordeal. The claustrophobic nightmare of being trapped in a transparent tube, with the vast ocean looming below, sent shivers down the spines of viewers online.

Social media erupted with reactions, as TikTok users shared their own fears. “Anyone else having a panic attack watching this?” one commenter wrote, while another quipped, “Stuck in a waterslide over actual ocean water would send me into a psychosis.” Others vowed to steer clear of cruise ship water slides altogether, with one user declaring, “TikTok has definitely taught me to NEVER get in a cruise water slide.” Another added, “I know she isn’t EVER going in one of these again.”

It remains unclear whether the passenger managed to free herself or if the ship’s crew intervened. However, seasoned cruisers familiar with the Norwegian Bliss have noted that the slide is equipped with an emergency hatch, allowing staff to access and assist riders in such situations.

This terrifying incident comes on the heels of another alarming water slide mishap. Just a month prior, passengers aboard Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas were left shaken when a glass panel on a water slide shattered mid-ride. The incident caused gallons of water to pour out, injuring a passenger who required immediate medical attention. A spokesperson for Royal Caribbean confirmed, “Our team provided medical care to an adult guest when acrylic glass broke off a water slide as the guest passed through. The guest is being treated for his injuries.” The slide was closed for the remainder of the voyage as investigations into the cause continue.

These back-to-back incidents have sparked renewed concerns about the safety of water slides on cruise ships, with many questioning whether the thrill is worth the risk. For now, the viral video of the stranded passenger serves as a stark reminder of how quickly a fun-filled adventure can turn into a nightmare, high above the unforgiving sea.
