THIS is the terrifying moment a tourist was attacked by a shark off the coast of Brazil as her helpless friends watch on in horror.
Tayane Dalazen was snorkelling in Fernando de Noronha archipelago in Pernambuco when chaos struck.

Footage shows the 36-year-old blissfully diving off of a boat and twirling into the bright blue water.
Almost immediately a large nurse shark speeds towards her and clamps onto her leg.
Dalazen can be seen struggling to free herself but the beast maintains its iron grip.
Unlike the slicing bite of more aggressive sharks, the nurse shark’s attack relies on a suction technique to latch onto prey.
As the attack unfolds, Dalazen’s two friends and a tour guide could only watch on in horror.
Miraculously she survived the ordeal, but was left with a nasty set of teeth marks to scar her thigh.
Lawyer and influencer Dalazen posted footage of the attack in January, but footage was taken from an obscure angle and the quality was grainy.
Now a new, clearer clip has emerged showing the gruesome detail.
She later said the guide acted quickly to ensure the animal released her before she was helped out of the water by local fishermen.
Her friend, dermatologist Caroline Pereira, immediately administered first aid, cleaning the puncture wounds to prevent infection.
Photos shared online afterward showed several lesions across her leg, but nothing life-threatening.
Since the attack and her recovery Dalazen has returned to surfing, shown off her battle scar, and even reunited with the same species of shark that chomped on her leg.
In a post on Instagram she wrote: “After 3 months from the shark bite, I dived back in Fernando de Noronha with sand sharks. I felt no fear, just happiness to be able to behold these magnificent animals.”
She clarified that diving with nurse sharks is a common activity which involves” a species known for its non-aggressive behaviour”.
“What happened was an isolated incident, outside the expected pattern for this species”, she added.

The dive took place in front of a fishermen’s association, a popular spot for tourists to observe sharks.
Environmentalists have long warned that irregular feeding of marine animals can increase risks for both humans and wildlife.
Following the incident, the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation opened an investigation.
It reminded the public that feeding wild animals is prohibited within the conservation area, and inappropriate interaction with marine life can lead to dangerous encounters.
